Aviation English Course
Advance your career in aviation
This specialist course has been designed for students and professionals in the field of aviation. Pilots, aircraft engineers and other aviation professionals employed by airlines, international aircraft manufacturers and air forces need to be able to read, understand and produce documents written in Aviation English and above all to communicate effectively with professional colleagues in English. This course can only run with a minimum of six students enrolling.
Course Objectives:
Students will require a level of English equivalent to B1, but still, wish to improve their language skills within this industry. The objectives of the course are to give the student skills to communicate with professionals in the aviation industry, technical discussions, conversation, pilot to tower, air staff, ground staff, client conversations/meetings, presentations, aeronautical engineering reports, journals, manuals, specifications, emails etc.
All lessons at all English levels are based on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). The objectives for each language level are as follows:
B1 can use written and spoken English to communicate the main points with confidence in the aviation sector:
B2 students can understand the main ideas of difficult topics and can speak and write with a good amount of fluency in the aviation sector:
C1 students can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and can communicate with ease in the aviation sector.

Entry Requirements
The Aviation English course is open to students from intermediate to proficiency levels. The previous study is not necessary, but this will influence the level which you achieve when you join the school.

Lessons run mornings and afternoons. Courses are either 15, 20, or 25 hours per week. Lessons are three, four, or five hours per day in the morning or in the afternoon. The maximum class size for all lessons is 16 students. There is a registration fee of £60 and a coursebook fee of £40.
